The Brand
Our brand purpose is to use the structure of business to profit society, not just fatcats in suits. We think it’s a real win-win: you get a cool new interpretation of the classic FLANNO shirt and society gets more help to stop the senseless waste of young lives that is suicide.
Just in case you haven’t sussed it out, our FLANNO Logo is a depiction of the Echidna. We think it’s the perfect symbol for FLANNO because he kind of sums up the typical Aussie male: tough and defensive on the outside, but ultimately soft and vulnerable underneath. It’s a uniquely Australian symbol and we love him.
THE ISSUE
The FLANNO is an iconic Aussie wardrobe staple. The sad truth behind the strength and warmth that is the FLANNO shirt is that too many Aussies are facing a private battle.
Suicide is the number one cause of death in Australians aged between 15 to 44, with rates 3 times higher in men and double for Indigenous Australians. Yep, double.
Suicide prevention organisation Lifeline estimates that every single day there are up to 240 suicide attempts in Australia and more than 8 deaths.
